Edith Piaf performing “La Vie en Rose”. Édith Piaf, born Édith Giovanna Gassion (19 December 1915 10 October 1963), was a French singer and cultural icon who “is almost universally regarded as France’s greatest popular singer.” Her singing reflected her life, with her specialty being ballads. Among her songs are “La vie en rose” (1946), “Hymne à l’amour” (1949), “Milord” (1959), “Non, je ne regrette rien” (1960), “l’Accordéoniste” (1941), “Padam…Padam”, and “La Foule”. “La Vie en rose” (French for “Life through rose-coloured glass,” literally “Life in pink”) was the signature song of French singer Édith Piaf. Piaf first popularized the song in 1946. The lyrics were written by Piaf and the melody of the song by “Louiguy” (Louis Gugliemi). Initially, Piaf’s peers and her songwriting team did not think the song would be successful, but it became a favorite with audiences. An English version of the lyrics was written later by Mack David. Owing to its popularity, the song appeared on most of Piaf’s subsequent albums. The song has become a standard and has been performed by many artists. It was given a Grammy Hall of Fame Award in 1998. It has also become a generic song representing the French in foreign countries, as “Rule, Britannia!” and “Stars and Stripes Forever” have for Britain and the US, respectively. La Vie En Rose, a film about her life directed by Olivier Dahan, debuted at the Berlin Film Festival in February 2007. Titled La Môme in France, the film stars Marion …

~ THIS VIDEO REPRESENT MY DEEP RESPECT FOR LAKOTA PEOPLE AND ALL NATIVE NATIONS OF AMERICA ~ Love : photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net ~ Please share this video with whole world ~ From the movie trailer ” First Nations ” by ” Wind Cave Productions ” … www.firstnationsdoc.com This video is forced to HD quality so you can watch it in wide screen. Any copyrighted material in this video is copied for educational purposes only. Production Notes : ” They made us many promises, more than I can remember. But they kept one. They promised they would take our land…and they took it.” –Chief Red Cloud. The lack of understanding between cultures is always related to ignorance. We all have many questions about one another we would ask if we could or if we had the courage. Some these unanswered questions about Native Americans that have lingered for generations are the subject of this film . Many questions have been blown away by the wind, and many answers have burned in the fires. To get to know ones’ neighbor is not to become a neighbor, but rather to learn to respect him and his culture, his roots and what he is. The Story : This documentary tells the story of the meeting between a young Native American from the Lakota tribe, Moses Brings Plenty who is a descendent of the Lakota, and a 12-year-old French boy named Eli Torelli has come here to learn about the Native Americans that fascinated him in France. One night, Eli dreams of a native man, and the next day Moses Brings Plenty comes to his …

A look at the events and some of the causes of the uprising in France in the Spring of 1968. Unfortuately, there is no mention of one of the driving forces of the uprising both before and during the revolt – the Situationist International. For more information check out the writings of the Situationists themselves. In a society that has abolished every kind of adventure the only adventure that remains is to abolish the society. Those who make revolutions halfway only dig their own graves. No replastering, the structure is rotten. We will ask nothing. We will demand nothing. We will take, occupy. Down with the state. It’s painful to submit to our bosses; it’s even more stupid to choose them. Abolish class society. We want neither to rule nor to be ruled. All power corrupts. Absolute power corrupts absolutely Politics is in the streets. Barricades close the streets but open the way. People who work get bored when they don’t work. People who don’t work never get bored. The boss needs you, you don’t need the boss. Humanity won’t be happy till the last capitalist is hung with the guts of the last bureaucrat. A single nonrevolutionary …
