tartiflette

Saturday 10th March

I dropped Alex off at 8:30 by the Luc Alphand black run as Lin and Chris had told him that the best time to go down was early in the morning. He was first down but was overtaken by two other skiers. The skiing was good but when he got up for a second run, the lower half was already slushy. We all met up by the Grande Alpe bowl and had some fun on the moguls and half pipe before skiing over to the Serre Blanc café again. This time we were much more successful and were soon feasting on tartiflette. I thoroughly commend both the food and the service from the café staff.  Lauren, Chris and I called it a day at 3:30 but Lin and Alex stuck it out until the last minute.
Lauren and I took off on a 4 hour shopping trip, looking for ski poles and presents for Matt to make up for his loss of a holiday. We had a good mooch around the old town and another whistling marmotte will soon be winging its way to the UK.
